[He reads out loud:] "There was some other trouble around about 1 A.M., but we sorted it out." What did you mean by that? And who was the fifth person in the house?
[Whoever they were, they were gone by the time he showed up, and so was Charlie. Charlie's fine, or so he says, but the purposefully vague phrasing, the complete failure to mention a name- that gets Charles' hackles up. He isn't going to be rude to Watson, dude's got enough on his plate right now, but this is something he definitely wants in the know about.]
