Game Summary: Snowblind is a survival psychological horror jamjar set in the post-apocalyptic town of Norfinbury, Alaska, around the year 2151. The world is deep in nuclear winter and the town is in shambles—abandoned, buried in rubble and snow, conditions are barely habitable, but still maintained by a mysterious overseer called the Admin and an army of nanomachines that can provide the barest necessities to live. The characters have been pulled into this town as its new "residents," isolated, with only the clothes on their backs, a backpack of rations, and a tablet with a network uplink to communicate through. The game consists largely of exploration and puzzle-solving, along with uncovering the backstory of how Norfinbury came to be what it is.
Recent developments include the introduction of a cult of fanatics who worship the Prophet and despise a pair of AI androids named Andromeda and Winter who may well be responsible, in part, for what happened.

History of Character in their Game:
John is, at his core, the same man who arrived in Norfinbury three and a half months ago. He is determined, paranoid, loyal to a fault, prone to emotional repression and subsequent outbursts of anger and aggression, self-sacrificing, and an adrenaline junkie. These traits have only been magnified by the extreme circumstances inflicted by the town and its horrors. He is more paranoid than ever that the things he's seeing and experiencing aren't real. This is predominantly because his perceptions have been altered so often as to almost be expected. His determination to continue, to pull people along and see them safely home to their lives has taken on a life of its own and is the primary driver for him in Norfinbury. He's always been strong-willed, but he's taken it to the next level of putting everyone else first and considering himself just a work horse to get to the end.
His faith in Sherlock Holmes has also been shaken, but his loyalty remains. He discovered only recently that Sherlock was lying to him about committing suicide. John took the news poorly and while he's actively forgiven Sherlock for it, he's still angry and it's really done nothing good for his trust issues.
On a more positive level, John's acceptance of the idea of multiple universes and magic has expanded. He doesn't particularly like the idea of magic being real and would prefer another explanation, but he can live with it being real and even appreciate it on some level as 'cool.'

How long was your character in Game: ICly 101 Days (last day was Day 205); about 10 months OOCly
History of Character in their Game:
- John woke up alone in Norfinbury in a house that was not only physically empty, but which had a soul-deep sense of emptiness to it. It was the first (and mildest) experience he had with the town's psychological effects. Various people directed him on what to do and where to go in order to be helpful. The most notable of these people were Peggy Carter and Steve Rogers. John recognized them immediately as movie characters from his world and called them out on whatever ruse they were trying to pull off. It started up an argument where they informed John in no uncertain terms that they were real and he was, in fact, a fictional character. They eventually reached an accord on the matter, but it left John in something of a minor existential crisis.
- The next big Event was literally two days after John arrived. Someone put together a plot to short circuit the Admin (the one in control of Norfinbury), and it ended up knocking everyone unconscious for the day while also removing the Emergency Medical Response System (a system designed to give immediate aid via medical nanomachine booster injection to people who were gravely injured, wherever they were in town). John reached out to the Admin after that, both to see what he could find out and to test her responses to him. She didn't respond. This would be a reoccurring theme.
- After that, John finally managed to meet up with a few people: Dr. Franken Stein and Ecks, the fleshgolem. John took note that Stein seemed to be suffering from rather severe mania and decided to keep the man under his watch. He didn't want Ecks, who seemed a shy and easily-influenced woman, alone with the other man. At the same time, he was contacted by Fiona, a conartist, who was looking for assistance with her friend Rhys. He was one of the people responsible for the short circuiting of the Admin and the attempt to hack her system and his brain was fried in the process. John made the very important discovery at that point that doctors could prescribe medication through the Admin when he prescribed seizure meds to Rhys and agreed to meet up with him and Fiona.
- The meet-up went well, and John was able to form a solid alliance with Fiona, Rhys, Angel, and Beckett due to his swift and free aid. He even managed to find ice cream and socks to bring to Rhys, two other things the man had asked him for. Unfortunately, Stein's mania proved to be a major problem among the group. He kidnapped Rhys away to another building and conducted a lobotomy on the man which put an evil AI in Rhys' head (Handsome Jack) in charge.
- John and the others went to confront Stein, but he escaped along with Handsome Jack who kidnapped Angel along with him. John and Haurchefant (a soldier elf who happened on the group) took off after Handsome Jack and Angel, while Fiona and Beckett went after Stein. Unfortunately, a major event hit just as they were getting underway. Everyone had dreams that overlapped and some (including John) were drawn into a communal dream where they met the shades of previous residents. John met Jia Xu, a nurse who worked at the Norfinbury Hospital and who was specially trained with Nanomachine Injector MAchine (NIMA) technology. The experience was informative, but it left John with the lingering effect of experiencing a dual reality. He was in Norfinbury as it currently was, but he was also in a busy hospital, people suffering all around with bandages covering their skin and a pervasive sense of helplessness. The experience sidetracked the hunt for Handsome Jack as John struggled to figure out where he was and what he was even doing for two days.
- Once the effect dissipated, John and Haurchefant met up with Fiona and Beckett again to go on the hunt once more. Unfortunately, a new threat emerged: The Joker threatened a bombing in the ice tunnels John and the others were heading into. John organized efforts to try to prevent this, along with contacting the Admin to inform her of the threat and what had happened with Rhys/Handsome Jack. It would be the first of several instances where John would inform the Admin of happenings that others said it would be better to deal with on their own. As it turned out, Joker's bomb threat was a hoax to cover over his murder of Dr. Clayton Epps. John threatened the Joker with severe retribution for his actions, but he was focused on Handsome Jack.
- Unfortunately, he and the others were unable to capture Handsome Jack and only found evidence of Angel's handiwork in murdering her father and committing suicide, herself. They were also chased by one of John's first anomalies (monsters roaming the town). John was grabbed by it and rendered unconscious, but he was saved by Haurchefant and Beckett.
- While others were killed in the next few days (Steve Rogers and a robotic woman named Luna that John had spoken with), Rhys and Angel revived and John was able to meet up with them again. The reunion was short-lived as he was contacted by Alfie Solomons (a curious gangster) asking for medical assistance after waking up from his own death in the hospital morgue. He was bereft of supplies, having been in his nightwear when an anomaly took him. John collected donated supplies and trekked south to meet up with Alfie. In the process, John went snooping into some of the more mysterious circumstances surrounding events leading up to Alfie's death. Alfie didn't take well to this and ended up threatening John with a scalpel. John turned the tables on him, though, and told Alfie in no uncertain terms not to try to pull that crap again. While Alfie seemed to take it as a good sign and was impressed, John was just annoyed and bothered by the fact that Alfie was messing with him and calling him out on things he really didn't even think about. Like going snooping when he could have left well enough alone.
- He was spirited away for the next event before anything with Alfie could really be resolved. John found himself going through a series of puzzles, trivia games, and mazes along with Haurchefant and a determined child named Frisk, a sick and twisted game put together by a former Norfinbury resident named Robert Miller. They were forced to compete against other teams with the promise that others outside the game would die if they did not perform. John bonded with Frisk and Haurchefant through the trials with each of them, in turn, having to work to keep the others' spirits up. At the end of the line, John and all of the groups encountered a giant anomaly they had to flee from. John took immediate charge and directed the escape while Haurchefant sacrificed himself, kiting the anomaly away from the group and giving everyone else the chance to escape.
- Once he was back above ground with the knowledge that the entire town of Norfinbury was irradiated and the anomalies might be people from their own universes who didn't come through right, John got Alfie to some level of safety, and then headed off to meet with another group. This group included Fiona, a woman he was coming to rely on and fall a little in love with. She and John argued about what she viewed as John focusing on everyone else too much after Robert Miller's game and not giving himself enough room to process and heal from the experience.
- John ended up in a traveling group that included Fiona, Alfie, and Hauchefant after that. Fiona managed to bridge the divide between Alfie and John for the moments when they were all focused on talking together and John noted Alfie's attraction to her in a vague way, but didn't bring it up. John and Alfie exchanged some barbed words in this encounter, but John found himself being charmed by the irritating gangster, even in spite of their clashes.
- The next major happening occurred when John found himself split from Fiona again after an anomaly attack. He was stuck with a man named Royce, one of Alfie's closest traveling companions. Royce had been injured and once more, John snooped to try to figure out what was going on, even knowing Alfie and Royce would both disapprove. It was an unsuccessful avenue, but John did end up being contacted by Ecks who (unbeknownst to John) had a vendetta against Royce for murdering her friend House. Ecks joined them that night and ended up murdering Royce while John was trying to restrain the other man. The guilt for letting this happen was immense, only compounded by the fact that he'd thought he'd talked Ecks down from hurting Royce.
- He didn't have long to be upset with Ecks, though. The next day as they were heading to meet up with Alfie and Fiona, Ecks was eaten by an anomaly, in spite of John trying to sacrifice himself for her. This broke John. For the first time in Norfinbury, he sat in the snow and just let himself scream and cry in frustration. There were things to do, though. He went and informed Alfie and Fiona of what had happened to both Royce and Ecks. Alfie was furious, but showed this by simply rejecting John. Fiona, in her efforts to get John to open up (he'd emotionally shut down after his cry) ended up triggering John. He aggravated some of her pre-existing injuries without meaning to as he fought her on instinct. John was extremely apologetic afterward, but guilt clawed at him for his loss of control.
- John traveled with Just Fiona for a time after that and ended up confessing his love for her. Fiona turned him down, telling him she was just focused on getting out, and John accepted that, telling her he was happy just being her friend. He would continue to pine quietly for the rest of his time in the game.
- Duster returned to life and John offered what apologies he could for what happened, but there were other things happening, as well. A Russian AI known as Winter contacted the group, having done so on previous occasions, to offer her aid and ask what was going on. She was cut off by Robert Miller who shut her out of the network and informed everyone that she was really a Russian assassin AI and not someone to be trusted.
- The next significant event for John was a direct encounter with the Joker. John tried to fight the other man and ended up getting knocked unconscious and buried in the snow. England, Tony Stark, and Natasha Romanov ended up saving his life. It was only a few days after that, that John had one of his first big successes in Norfinbury. He conducted surgery on Charlie Kelly to repair his eye socket after the man had had it ripped out by a manic and bloodlusting Beckett.
- John also encountered Bucky Barnes, in-person there. John had been in contact with Bucky previously, helping him with medication and trying to help the other man work through some of his problems. They'd grown close, with John offering some tidbits about his own life to encourage Bucky and build trust. It was probably a good thing for them as Charlie informed Bucky that he was a fictional character from the movies in his world. John managed to smooth things over, even though Bucky though Charlie was some sort of HYDRA Agent (the villains who had hurt Bucky in his own universe).
- What followed was a travel montage with Fiona and Alfie, in which all three grew much closer and John ended up forming a full-fledged alliance of trust with Alfie. They agreed that they both loved and wanted to protect Fiona, and Fiona managed to get it out of John that he felt responsible for his friend Sherlock's suicide.
- Many of John's troubles in Norfinbury were self-inflicted or the result of his encounters with other people, not the environment, and the next major fallout followed this pattern. John released an electronic casebook for his first 50 days in Norfinbury. He tried to redact personal information, but it ended up not working and everyone had access to his personal thoughts and private experiences. It ended up coming out that he knew the Avengers as fictional characters, that the Joker was, too, that he was in love with Fiona, that he'd helped Ecks cover up Royce's murder, and that he has a mild obsession with talking about Alfie Solomons. The fallout ended up driving a wedge between John and Nat, Tony, and Bucky, for a good while. It did push him closer to Clint Barton, though. He found the other man understanding and kind where the others were much colder.
- They met up with Alfie again, along with a larger group, and while Fiona traveled with Alfie and the others, John went off with Tifa (another of Alfie's close allies) and a boy named Quark (whom he and the others had rescued due to his death price being the inability to walk). Tifa had acquired an app that she, John, and Quark used to lead them to the hospital. As that was happening, Winter contacted everyone again. This time, she started glitching out, the word 'eye' replacing every instance of 'i' until she eventually disconnected.
- John and co were able to find the body of Jia Xu in the hospital with Tifa's app and discovered how the nurse had died--a NIMA patient had gone insane and murdered her. Apparently, many of the NIMA patients had started acting strangely after the NIMA system had gone offline and finally returned. The team didn't have much time to mull this over as the world around them filled with static and people started glitching in and out of existence. The pervading sense of being alone and being the only thing that was real in Norfinbury hit John hard, even while he tried to suppress fear and trauma related to the experience.
- While the static did not fully abate, it lessened, and John headed off to meet Bucky once more, at the other man's request. John thought he was off to help Bucky with some frostbite, but Bucky attacked and tied him up, wanting more information about what John knew about the Avengers. John refused to answer, but managed to talk Bucky down from torturing the information out of him. Unfortunately, in the fight, John was gravely injured, becoming crippled. Not wanting Bucky to get into trouble for what John viewed as something not entirely his fault (he put it on miscommunication plus natural paranoia plus medical nanite poisoning that only enhanced Bucky's paranoia). The lies didn't go over well, especially when Bucky just tore them apart, along with Davesprite, a young boy who had happened on John and Bucky after the fight and seen the state John was in. While John tried to downplay things, Davesprite informed everyone of the extent of John's injuries. It resulted in a lot of people yelling at John for defending the man who crippled him. Bucky had earned John's loyalty, though, and he stubbornly stuck to his guns about it not really being the other man's fault.
- The static that had been around earlier peaked again after the fight with Bucky and strange eye symbols associated with a person known as the Prophet began appearing all over the walls. In the end, everyone was forced to make a choice as the static overtook the world and everything else in it: draw the eyes on themselves to align with the Prophet, or scratch out the eyes. John chose to draw them.
- Meanwhile, a planned reunion meet-up with Fiona was delayed because of John's encounter with Bucky. She encountered the Joker and he murdered her, leaving behind the evidence of her bloody hat stuffed in a drawer at the pharmacy. That night, John found her hat, figured out what happened and swore vengeance on the Joker, enlisting Alfie and England's aid. It was also the second time John broke in the game, this time in front of someone else. He found himself crying on Bucky's shoulder while he held Fiona's hat, angry at himself for not getting to her soon enough, and a little angry at Bucky (in spite of himself) for delaying him.
- John and Bucky met up with the Avengers after that, while Quark went off to travel with Charlie. The new arrivals turned up about this time, among them Sherlock Holmes. John spent a good portion of Sherlock's first day trying to do damage control for the man, assuming Sherlock was from immediately before or after his suicide. Sherlock was, in fact, from several years on from John's perspective, but he refused to just come out with that, fearing ruining John's timeline. This would come back to bite him later. They made plans to meet up.
- Unfortunately, before they could, John was taken by an anomaly. He woke up later at the morgue with his hands non-functional. John was unable to escape his body bag and ended up panicked and terrified thanks to the pervading sense in the morgue that made people want to leave them, especially those who had just woken up in them. Luckily, John was aided by Kid, a sickly and OCD teenager he'd offered some advice to about anxiety earlier. They met up with Stein once more, and John traveled with the pair briefly, having to have Stein and Kid help him with even the most basic tasks due to the loss of his hands. The experience left John feeling helpless, anxious, and more paranoid than ever before. He panicked at Sherlock and had to have the other man talk him down from a panic attack, much to John's shame.
- John met up with Sherlock at long last after that and regained motor function in his hands while Sherlock was examining them. He also helped his friend work through his own existential crisis about magic and the supernatural being real in Norfinbury. The pair headed off south to look into a trapped anomaly after that, not really finding much, but meeting up with Sylar, a serial killer who had fooled everyone (including John) into believing he was just a normal guy. John was furious at the man and was generally contentious toward him in their meeting, even as Sherlock insisted that he would be accompanying them.
- While examining the anomaly, John was called away by Stein to come help with some frostbite issues. John took Sylar with him, planning to only be away a day. However, they were snowed in for a day as a strange effect took hold. People's eyes began to change. Those who had previously drawn eyes or who were sympathetic to faith/curious about the Prophet had their eyes transformed into cartoon like representations of the Prophet symbol. Those who had scratched out eyes found their eyes glowed. Stein was manic once more and knocked out Sylar and Kid, unbeknownst to John. He drew John into the bathroom and proceeded to knock him out, feed him some narcotics and then cut out his eye to examine it while John was semi-conscious. He also cut a long slice down John's cheek for good measure. It was one of the most traumatizing experiences of John's life, and he has developed a trigger related to anyone touching his eyes or around them without significant warning and mental preparation.
- Stein's experiment was, for all intents and purposes, a success. He extracted John's eye without killing him. At lockdown, though, John found himself experiencing the sudden impulse to murder every single person with glowing eyes on behalf of the Prophet. He had the foresight to cuff himself to some pipes, chuck the key at Kid and force down some additional narcotics to keep himself a non-threat to those around him. Many people visited him over the course of the night, as well as contacted him, including Alfie (glowing eyes), whom John fought hard to try to shake the killing instinct out of himself for, and Sherlock, who swore vengeance on and ultimately killed Stein for what he'd done to John.
- John met up with Sherlock after the murder night and also picked up Sylar again, as well as Sheena (a woman he'd been flirting with). They traveled together until encountering the Joker and taking him prisoner. Thinking that problem was sufficiently managed for a bit (even with John wanting to murder the Joker for what he'd done to Fiona), John headed off from the main group to meet with Bucky, Kunsel, and Zack (the latter two being military men who'd agreed to help John and Bucky with something). John had learned from the Admin that blood transfusions might ease MN Poisoning symptoms. Bucky and Kunsel had matching blood types and Kunsel agreed to be a donor.
- While he was away, though, Sheena went to get food, and Sherlock and Sylar skedaddled to go run a morgue experiment, leaving the Joker free to escape. Furious at Sherlock for his actions, John set about trying to track the other man and the Joker down with Sheena's help. He ordered Sherlock not to perform any morgue experiments, knowing the previous ones had been universally fatal. Someone who received the unfortunate brunt of John's ire on the matter was Dr. Stephen Strange, a man who shared a face with Sherlock. John mistook the man for Sherlock and punched him on their first meeting, only to find Stephen's magic cloak attacking him. They managed to reconcile after the misunderstanding with both John and Stephen offering each other comfort for their troubles that night.
- Sherlock conducted the morgue experiment, dying in the process along with Sylar and leaving John a broken mess once more. It was only meeting up with Alfie and hearing from a revived Sherlock that managed to pull John from his misery. Before John could go in search of his friend, though, the next event hit. Everyone was pulled into strange, all white rooms where there was pounding on the walls and footsteps outside. The rooms eventually opened up to a spiraling maze of white where John encountered numerous people, including, notably, the Joker, Sherlock, Bucky, and a man named Alexander Pierce. Pierce was a HYDRA agent who had acted as Bucky's handler and whom John had been helping Bucky try to track down and contain. His encounter with Pierce ended violently when they met up with Bucky. Pierce tried to take John as a hostage, strangling him, but John and Bucky together managed to fight him off and knock him unconscious. Not before John admitted to loving Bucky in front of Pierce.
- Once out of the strange maze, John, Alfie, and Emily (a girl that Alfie was taking care of) set off to meet up with Sherlock. John managed to get permission from Bucky to finally tell Sherlock about Pierce and they made plans to take out the man. However, in their discussions later that night when John came to bring Sherlock tea, it finally came out that Sherlock was from a time ahead of John, that he had faked his death, and that he had been lying to John since his arrival in Norfinbury. John was horrified, confused, feeling betrayed and angry. He told Sherlock he hated him, snarled and snapped and tried to reject the other man, calling him a liar and a fake. He felt so stupid for not putting it together and angry at himself given that Sherlock's stated reasons for doing what he did were to protect John and to avoid mucking up his timeline. Objectively, they were completely reasonable.
- Ultimately, John knew he wouldn't be able to actually hate the other man. He loved him too much. Alfie pointed this out to John, as well, and John knew he was stuck. Not wanting to forgive Sherlock, but unwilling to let him go, John dragged the other man with him toward some tunnels leading to a new area in Norfinbury. He still wanted Sherlock to solve the mystery and get everyone out, so he planned to facilitate that. They ran into Dug, a talking golden retriever, along the way and ended up pulling him along.
- When they made it to the tunnels, though, a strange event took place. The world was covered in fog and strange creatures began to roam. A friendly AI named Andromeda lit up paths for everyone to follow to escape the creatures, but Sherlock strayed off the path and that led to Dug and John straying. They were assaulted by a creature that looked like a tear in the fabric of reality. It cut all of them with thousands of tiny cuts and sent Dug running. John and Sherlock were unable to find him after that and had to retire to shelter for the night.
- That night and the next morning, they discovered there were people with far more severe injuries. John advised a few people and decided to pull Sherlock along in going to pick up Dug and then meet up with a few people to assist them. They would never make the appointment.
- A cave-in buried them in the tunnels, and while John and Sherlock survived the initial collapse, Sherlock figured out they wouldn't have time to dig their way out before lockdown. He tricked John into sleeping while Sherlock prepared to commit suicide. When John woke, Sherlock had already OD'd on morphine and was only able to last long enough to tell John what he needed to do: strip Sherlock's body, put on all of his clothes, and then, when the time came, slit Sherlock open and use his organs for warmth. Sherlock made John promise to do this, to stay alive. John lied and told him he would.
- After Sherlock died, John cuddled himself up with his friend's corpse as best he could, and sent out messages informing others of the circumstances and arranging for injured people to get treatment. He died, freezing to death, after learning that Pierce had triggered Bucky and turned him into a puppet for HYDRA once more, the Winter Soldier.
John is, at his core, the same man who arrived in Norfinbury three and a half months ago. He is determined, paranoid, loyal to a fault, prone to emotional repression and subsequent outbursts of anger and aggression, self-sacrificing, and an adrenaline junkie.
