I told Sergeant Barnes we could tell people that when he had me tied up and didn't see a way out of the situation for himself. I... sort of expected him to stick to it once he'd let me go.

You don't have to lie to us about Bucky, we all know what he's capable of. [ Sniff. ] He's angry at himself, man, of course he told Nat. I don't think he really wanted to hurt you, he's just pretty much convinced himself he's a dangerous asshole.

Yeah. I wouldn't have been protecting him if I thought he was just a violent psychopath. He didn't want to hurt me, but he chose to do it anyway. Managed to talk him down from doing worse, at least, so I know he's still holding it together a bit.

We're gonna come get him. [ Clint actually sounds a little annoyed! He's been trying his best not to be, but he's tired and his hand hurts and he's been lied to! ]

You could've just told me the truth and asked me to keep it quiet. I would do that.

That still wouldn't solve the worrying you part of this. You've had a hell of a lot to deal with the past few weeks.
