Yes. There are inherent risks in every medicine, especially for children. They're some of the most sensitive. Something like ibuprofen, which is what I'd give her in lieu of narcotics, is probably the safest option available. Most people don't have any complications. When properly managing dosage, there usually aren't dangerous side effects for narcotics, either, though.

I don't know the actually statistics, but I can put it in perspective. If you have a 100 kids, maybe 1 in 100 might develop serious side effects from NSAIDs, even when receiving appropriate dosages and being monitored. It would be more like 5-to-10 in 100 for narcotics.

Have you asked her where her pain levels are?

It's a strong ache she feels down to the bone, especially in the hands. Royce has given her a very small amount of his medicine, aspirin, but it didn't help.

Tell him to stop giving her aspirin immediately. She needs ibuprofen, if we're doing an NSAID. It's safer and it'll act the same way.

It sounds like she's suffering from pain we'd typically associate with arthritis. Ibuprofen at a dose calculated for her weight is where I'd recommend starting, in that case. I can send a prescription in to the Admin for two weeks' worth. We can see how that goes and then reassess the options when we see how she's responding to it.

If I'm going to figure out a potential donor for her once we get the supplies together, I'd like to know what her blood type is. I can ask for her, she'd just need to give me permission.

I'm honestly not sure. You can give permission to me on her behalf, but I'm not sure the Admin's going to accept that unless you have he tell Eve that you're her legal guardian. As it stands without that, you haven't got any actual legal or procedural rights. You're not biologically related to her.

No, I don't suppose so. I've gotten permission for everything beforehand, though.
