[There's an echo of Alfie's voice in John's mind when Sylar asks if John thinks he's the police, and the memory of Royce lying dead on the floor. This is what he get when he tries to play police. But men like Sylar, like the Joker...

The problem is that Sylar isn't quite as bad as the Joker and he has tried to make himself useful since his murder. But it doesn't negate what happened! Not to mention his deception. John has never been under any delusions about the type of men Alfie and Royce are, nor Ecks because she'd told him what she did. He'd been completely taken in by Sylar's act until Sherlock had told him otherwise and that rankles. It leaves him feeling far more paranoid because this man is an actor.

Admittedly, some of his hostility is also the result of John's anger at himself for being so easily fooled by another psychopath. He should be able to spot these things by now.]

I'm going to ask the Avengers to travel with Al, if they can.

[ Sylar takes that for the swipe it is. But it doesn't sting as hard as he expected- Al had been traveling with the Avengers anyway. And now his transgressions were out there on the network for all to see. He still couldn't lie, and any attempt at deception just seemed sort of laughable at this point. This might've happened anyway, he didn't know. ]

But sure. Fine. I already asked Al if he wanted to tell them. Clint was helping him get around. I like Clint all right.

I think you're a man who needs to be locked up, Mr. Gray. Nothing more and nothing less. In lieu of that, I'd like people I trust you won't be able to manipulate watching you. Natasha will be with Clint.

I only take being locked up as a challenge, John. Trust me, there are a lot less deaths doing things this way.

Regardless, this sounds all right. Maybe I'll get along with Natasha better than I did with you. I'll try to keep working on getting us out of here, along with everyone else. The less distracted we are, the better.
