Yeah. [A simple reply from someone who's dealt with an addict. And that's right. John remembers now. The promise that Alfie had demanded from him to pick up the pills from Duster if he died.] He's an addict from what I've seen, not someone who actually needs it for pain management.

What's the dosage on those pills? You'll want to give her something low. Maybe cut the pills in half or quarters. 5 mg is a standard dose at the lower end. Still might put her straight to sleep or make her a bit silly.

I give myself quarters. Her pain's worse than mine. She might want to start on that, right, and give herself a bit more if she needs it.

That sounds all right. If she takes more than one piece, have her try to space it out. 6 hours in between doses and no more than six doses in a day. Hopefully won't be separated for that long or hurting that badly for that long, but something to keep in mind when you're taking those, too.

I haven't taken six doses myself, in the week I've had them.

I'll give her a whole pill, cut up. More later to save, if she wants it.

Think we can all just about make Kesara's tunnel by tomorrow. There're two houses near there. Might want to split up instead of all trying to meet in one. 49 and 58 on House's map. I can help Duster to one of them for you to meet up with, if you've to a preference.

Woke up in 58. It's... empty. It feels empty. More than most of the other places here, like there's something missing out of it.

Yeah. I've been in that one. I'd rather skip it this time around, if it's all the same to you.

Gee. Thanks. [John rolls his eyes.] It's fine, though. I'll get him to 49, and you lot can head into the tunnel first for the night. I'm headed south once I deliver some food, anyway. Should keep things from getting too crowded. Not sure if the others will be coming with me.

Duster's being himself, I reckon. Think I've met friendlier sea urchins. I'm asking the Admin for some acetaminophen for him. It'll do to help the pain without chancing it for bleeding with the concussion.

And the finger, yeah. You two get into a fight? [His tone is dry, but he's wondering if he can pull a hint out of Alfie.]
