Honestly, I don't know what to believe from Mr. Miller. Some of it seems to be truth, some of it seems to be lies. I'm not sure I can figure out where to draw that line for him. I'm skeptical of anything he says, but in the absence of other information, it's what I'm using to work with.
Well, the best lies always have some
truth to them--that's what makes them effective. At least, that's what I've
been told. [ She's a horrible liar. ] Which means Miller is pretty good since we
can't tell one from the other.
Although, I still don't buy his whole thing about not setting things right
concerning us because she's his boss and he'd get into trouble. Is your job
really more important than the lives of a bunch of strangers who are
suffering?
[ Yeah, she can't follow that bit of training, but she's run into a couple of people who can do it beautifully. ]
Yeah, I guess you're right. [ The mayor of Lloyd's town was like that. ] Or he may be scared for another reason. [ A beat. ] Damn. I wonder if his family is in danger if he does something?
Or he's playing along because he's been promised a way to get them back. I don't know there's a lot of evidence to speculate with. Sherlock says it's dangerous to start making deductions without all the facts.

For some people, I'd reckon it is. We don't know exactly what sort of upbringing he had. People can be that selfish, unfortunately.
