I've noticed you're quite the sharp shooter, so I have a proposition for you. How would you feel about a friendly competition between the two of us?
Whilst I don't have a traditional firearm, I'm fairly sure I can keep pace with you with a mind bullet or two if you're interested. No pressure if you aren't, baby. I figured I would offer. We all deserve a little fun around here.
[Noticed? The choice of words sends a prickle of paranoia across John's skin. Has she been watching him while he hunts? Has she been talking to the plants? Other people like Lili who can talk to the plants? The suspicion swirls around in his head for half the night, keeping him awake and staring at the ceiling. It's just as well. John ends up taking their new puppy outside a few times just to make sure he does any nighttime business outside until he's properly housebroken.
He responds the next day after beating back the paranoia and telling himself she must have heard about the shanty town shooting games. Maybe she read his note on the board from earlier last month.]
Milla,
I'd be happy to practice my sharpshooting with you. Or compete, if that's what you'd like to call it. ;)
I reckon the beach is probably the safest place to set up. Did you have anything particular for targets in mind? I can try to put something together, otherwise.
[Be thankful Milla can't pick up any of that from a letter John. If she could she would tell him to relax a little. Instead her letter is still casual and playful.]
Potato, potahto as American's say! Maybe I can offer you something in exchange to make it more thrilling? A prize for the winner. Nothing big of course, this is a friendly competition after all.
The beach is most certainly the best bet. Less likely anyone will wander into range amidst things. Any type of target will do. I'm rather used to the classic silhouette you see in a shooting range or red targets Sasha prefers.
If you have targets like that, sure. Otherwise, I was just thinking glasses from the Beer Tree. As it is a friendly competition, though, would you mind me bringing a mate along? He's a trained sniper, as well. I'd like to get him meeting a few more people, as well. He's having a hard time of it here.

[All of them are having a hard time of it here, but John's more concerned about Bucky's well being than himself. Sniping against a 'pretty dame' might be good for him.]
That sounds more than fine by me. I'm sure Sasha has enough bottles I can take from their recycle bin to add to things. Maybe I'll bring some of the ugly pottery from Panem that is laying around my home.
The more the merrier, dear! I'd be more happy to meet him. I'm sure it will keep all of us on the top of our game to say the least.
I'm a little booked up with meeting people people for check-up exams, but I have some free time on the 24th.
[He's been tallying the days, but someone was able to give him an actual Gregorian calendar date for this place, which is a minor relief... even if it's somewhat meaningless, really.]
An how about high noon for our shoot out. ;)
Should give me time to wrangle Bucky, as well. Thanks, Milla!
