Uh, Jimmy. You're... right. Um... good to hear from you again. As far as the circumstances go. I'm happy I was able to talk to him. So, what have you caught about what's been going on?

[ Sorry, John. If Jimmy knew it was a bad time he'd definitely offer to call back later, but as it stands... ]

More than I was able to before? I'm still pretty lost on all of this, but I think that's more because Castiel doesn't understand it either than because he's not telling me things. Mostly there was just that... big, period of time? That wasn't actually real? I wasn't really aware for most of it.

Yeah, that was... a thing that happened. [It happened a lot.] Dreams, too. Dreams about what was happening back home without us there. Did Castiel get any of those?

I think it might've happened for a few thousand years on our end. [ Jimmy laughs, nervously and a little hysterically. That was... a possibility Castiel had warned him about, but he hadn't quite realized how much a thousand years was. Good thing it didn't really happen! ]

Dreams? Oh, right. He did, yeah. I didn't see them but I think he told a few other people that he saw Lucifer destroy all of humanity.

[That's mildly horrifying. Ten years had felt a lifetime to John. A few thousand is just... impossible to even imagine.]

Did you have any dreams, yourself? Separate from him?

[godsspeed]

Uh. [ He pauses, thinking. ] A lot, I think, but I don't remember them all that well. Probably just means they weren't vision-dreams like the rest of you. Plus it kind of... got difficult, telling what was a dream and what wasn't after the first few. Decades.

[This is... awkward. John decides to get off the topic. He's not really interested in small-talk, but he feels sorry for the man. And there's really nothing better to do apart from sulk in misery.]

Right. Um... so you're about for a while, then. Anything you're planning to do, particularly?

Castiel was headed towards the school when the anomaly got us, and I'm pretty close to a maintenance tunnel entrance, so I was thinking about going down there to see just how much faster it is.

[ Don't think he doesn't notice that hesitation though, John. ]

If this is a bad time I can, uh. Call you back?

No, it's not. I just... it's been a hard day. Sorry. I do want to talk to you.

You mean the high school, right? Why was he heading there?

I think he thought he could do the most good helping explore the new areas as they opened up, or at least bringing supplies down so other people could. He found a tent a while back that looks like it.... might hold up to the elements?

[ Jimmy sounds pretty unsure of that, honestly. ]

And if that's the case [ ssssomehow ] it'd make heading into unmapped areas a lot less risky.
