[The anomaly moves far faster than any of them could over the snow, and it's obvious why when it gets closer. Beneath the Belstaff there are no feet, he's merely gliding along with the severed stumps of legs barely touching the ground as they leave a trail of red behind him. Where the brim of the deerstalker meets his forehead is a dark gash lined with teeth, and beneath that are far too many eyes which are all focused on its quarry.]
Hello, John.
[It's voice is oddly affable but without inflection.]
I'm glad you're here, I've been looking for you. And you've brought me a specimen, too. Brilliant! Empty, obvious by the sound it makes when it moves. An anomaly! Is it my birthday? You do know how to spoil me.
H-Hey! I'm not an anomaly, and I'm not specimen, so keep back. We're just here to talk.
[John isn't sure which emotion is stronger, horror at the misshapen thing his best friend has become, or annoyance that some things really don't change.]
We're here to tell you about more specimens, Sherlock, as many as we can gather together. I'm heading toward the power plant now. We're trying to get everyone there, people and anomalies. Interested?
[Al has dropped into a ready stance, keeping the tablet between him and the anomaly, taking a few steps back when it continues to approach.]
Of course I'm interested, I'll be sure to head along as soon as it's convenient. Once I've dealt with my own specimens along the way.
Uh, Dr. Watson? I don't think this is going well, maybe I should just...
[He takes another step backwards.]
No, don't leave. I need to know how you work. I must understand how you work.
[That last bit is said simultaneously with the mouth that his hat and forehead have become, dark and sinister and with an edge of laughter behind it. It's hungry, the need to take Al apart and find out how he works. He wants to take them all apart so there's no mysteries left any more.]
[Al might not see eye-to-eye with Dr. Watson a lot of the time, but he's not stupid and so he doesn't argue against a sensible instruction like that. The view of the tablet goes end over end and flips to show the sky and just a snatch of Al's loincloth as he starts to sprint away.]
I already know how you work, John. I understand you. I'll be there when I'm done.
[There's a brief glimpse of disgusting spatters of blood where Sherlock glides right over the tablet, before they're both out of sight. The sound of footsteps is rapid and gradually getting further away.]

[Is him the right descriptor? Or is it more acceptable?]
How would I maybe catch him if I'd lost sight of him?
[Beneath the sound of scathing judgement is the sound of crunching footsteps in the snow.]
no subject
Right. Call out to him.

[He hesitates a moment and then the video feed flicks on, showing a dot in the distance.]
Hey! Hello! Mr. Holmes?!
[The speck on the horizon obviously hears because it stops and then abruptly changes course towards Alphonse.]
no subject
Sherlock!
[He'll call out, as well once the speck is closer.]
Stay back far enough you don't hurt him.

Just talk? Dull.

Sherlock, listen to me. I want you there now. I'm in Hsiaoke Pass. Come meet me and you can experiment on me.
